The Rolex Cellini collection comprises three different models: The Rolex Cellini Time, the Rolex Cellini Date and the Rolex Cellini Dual Time. The Rolex Cellini Time is traditional in that it captures the time in hours, minutes and seconds, with the model promoted by Rolex with an emphasis on the importance of the present. The Rolex Cellini Date differentiates in that, though it also provides the time in hours, minutes and seconds, as its name indicates, its focus is also on its specialty of providing the date. This date display is on the dial in a roulette-style sub-dial which features the numbers 1-31, each representing the date of the month. Only half of the 31 dates feature as written numbers on this sub-dial, with one date missed between two next; for instance, the 1st and 3rd follow each other, separated by one dotted indices, suggestive of the 2nd. This is for the purpose of fitting the all the month’s dates onto the dial. A hand moves daily from one number or indices to another to signify the appropriate date. Lastly, the Rolex Cellini Dual Time offers the wearer two different time zones on the one watch. This is a particularly useful feature for those traveling, as it allows the wearer to view their local time on the main dial and simultaneously see their home time on the sub-dial. This sub-dial records hours and minutes with an hour and minutes hand. It has the numbers 1-12 in the sub-dial, however the alternating moon or sun symbol at 9 o’clock makes it possible to identify whether it is the hours of the day or night, thus providing a full 24hr clock.
